Vincent is a French international student arriving in the US for his studies. As his plane lands, he panics, fearing he has lost his passport. He manages to calm himself down and leaves a voicemail for his parents, reassuring them that he stayed calm and that there was nothing to worry about.

However, this anxiety stays with him as he goes through border control. When he hands over his passport, the border control officer pauses, unable to find any country that matches his passport. As far as they know, he comes from nowhere. Taken away for interrogation, he faces a cold and barely human voice that refuses to listen and tries to break his spirit. As he resists, he is visited by an agent who seems to be the only one on his side.

When Vincent breaks down, realizing his apparent loss of touch with reality, he catches something the agent says that shatters the illusion.

Desperate to escape this prison of mental manipulation, he fights a battle he had lost from the start.
